The forest of the western ghats are punctuated with large and small waterfalls that roar, gurgle and splash down the mountain side. Almost all these scintillating cascades are the venues for picnics around the year.
Palaruvi : which means "stream of milk" makes its way down the rocks, from a height of 300 ft. The palaruvi woods is a beautiful picnic spot. Palaruvi is covered by dense forest rubber and tea plantations. Thenmala is also a dam site. An echo tourism project is implimeted here.
