Changathy poocha : Sreedharan Nair and Raman Nair are two wealthy landlords in a village. Though they are brothers, there is little love lost between them. Ancestral property is at the root of the feud. They lose no opportunity to malign one another. Raman Nair, the younger of the two, thinks of a novel plan to go one up on his brother. He hires a boy from the neighbouring village to pretend to fall in love with his brother's daughter. Changathy poocha : Sivan is a lad who has more problems than he can handle. Money lenders are after him to get back amounts advanced to him and for marrying off his sister and for constructing a house, which is as yet unfinished. His brother-in-law Purushothaman is a caretaker of Raman Nair's properties. Purushothaman had mediated in arranging some of the loans that Sivan took. It is Purushothaman who thinks of the brilliant idea of engaging Sivan to pretend to be in love with Sreedharan Nair's daughter. Things take a different turn when the two really fall in love.

Changathy poocha : Changathi Poocha is a full-length comedy directed by debutant SP Mahesh, who had for several years worked as assistant to director Vinayan. Jayasurya plays the lead role of Sivan while Salim Kumar plays his brother-in-law Purushothaman. Nedumudi Venu plays Sreedharan Nair, the elder of the feuding brothers while Jagathy Sreekumar plays Raman Nair, the younger sibling. Vipin Mohan comes back after a long break to wield the camera.
