Detective : Mohan Kumar is a young political firebrand whose power and influence is on the rise. His wife Reshmi reportedly commits suicide. Since the couple was not known to have had any marital discord, the police are entrusted with the task of unraveling the circumstances of her death.

Detective :Detective Shyama Prasad, the step-brother of Mohan Kumar, is put in charge of the case. Mohan Kumar fiercely but futilely opposes the appointment stating that the animosity that the latter had for years nurtured towards him would not only prevent him from conducting an honest investigation, but also induce him to distort facts and lead the investigation so as to adversely affect him.

Detective : Shyama Prasad however, is a person who does not let personal prejudices interfere with the performance of his duty. The investigation leads him to findings that could have imponderable repercussions. What follows after that forms the gist of the story of Detective, the full length suspense film scripted and directed by debutant Jithu Joseph.

Detective : An interesting facet of the film is that Suresh Gopi does the roles of both Shyama Prasad and Mohan Kumar. By simultaneously doing two characters that are so different in mental make-up and physical demeanor, Suresh Gopi gets an opportunity to exhibit his histrionic capabilities. Unlike other films starring Suresh Gopi, this is not a full length action film. Rather, this is a fast moving thriller that intends to capture the attention of the audience through intelligent investigation. Detective is scheduled to hit the screens in the first week of February.
