 Palunku: Palunku is a rather emotional story centred around Monichhan and his family. The village is the only world that Monichhan knows, and the crops, the cows, the goats and the poultry, are his only ways to earn a living. Born and brought up in the village, he is ignorant of the ways of life in the city, which is miles away, and leads a happy life with his wife Susan and his two daughters Geethu and Neethu. Palunku: Monichhan nurtures a dream within his heart. He wants his children to get a good education unlike the Second Standard education that he himself has. He decides to send his daughters off to the school in the city miles away, and begins commuting them to school and back home, on his cycle. He feels a sense of pride when his daughters begin to speak English and eventually start fancying city life. Encouraged by his daughters' preference for urban living, Monichhan and his family move into the city. The rest of the story revolves around how they try to cope with life in the city. Mamooty dons the role of Monichhan in Blessy's latest venture. Susan's role is played by newcomer Lakshmi Sharma and those of Geethu and Neethu are played by Baby Nasreen and Baby Niveditha respectively. After the phenomenal hit Thanmathra, Blessy once again concentrates on a rather serious topic in Palunku. The movie, which has several fresh faces in the cast, is expected to be another tear jerker. It is slated to hit the screens during Christmas. |
