Moonnamathoral: Jeeva is a police officer. Bala is a budding novelist. Theirs was a love marriage, though neither had much time for romancing prior to marriage. On being transferred to the high ranges, they take up residence at Krishnapuram palace set amidst lush tea plantations. They look forward to life in the high ranges as a honeymoon. Bala is also confident that the cool, salubrious climate in the hills will be conducive to her literary ambitions. Soon after commencing life together at the palace however, Bala gets the uneasy feeling that there is someone else living within the premises. She wakes up in terror most nights. Jeeva sets out to study the history of the palace. Moonamathoraal is a suspense thriller being shot at Peermade. Moonnamathoral: This will be the first film to be shot entirely on HD Camera and projected digitally. Digital technology is being provided by Trichur-based Emil & Eric Digital Private Limited. The film will be released via satellite simultaneously to over 100 theatres across the state. While avoiding the costs involved in producing celluloid prints, the new technology will allow simultaneous release of the film is as many centres as required. Produces will be able to recoup their investments faster. This will also reduce the possibilities for piracy. Since filming is done in the digital format retakes will not be expensive.
